Members of the Ivorian team are affiliated to the Laboratory of Genetics of the Félix Houphouet Boigny University (Dr. A. Kouassi, Prof. Dr. A. Sangaré, Dr. J.C. N’Zi, Dr. Alla-N’nan Oulo, Dr. A.B. Kouassi, and Dr. Y.N. Tian Bi). The team leader will be Dr. Auguste Kouassi, who is a specialist in the characterization and breeding of African eggplants (Solanum melongena, S. aethiopicum, S. macrocarpon and wild relatives S. anguivi, S. dasyphyllum). Prof. Dr. Abdourahamane Sangaré is full professor of biotechnology and genetics, and biotechnology and biosafety programme manager at West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (WECARD). Dr. J.C. N’zi is a vegetable breeder (Solanum lycopersicum, S. melongena). Dr. Alla-N’nan Oulo is a specialist in biotechnology and genetic resources conservation, Dr. A.B. Kouassi is specialized in biotechnology and quantitative genetics, and Dr. Y.N. Tian Bi is a specialist of population genetics and evolutionary biology.
